Paolo Zermani is an Italian architect. Since 1990, he is Full Professor of Architectural Composition at the Faculty of Architecture of Florence.
He has been director of the magazine "Materia" (1990-2000); he is founder and coordinator of "Identità dell'architettura italiana", a yearly event taking place in Florence.
His work has been recognized worldwide and extensively published: in 1986, the magazine Ottagono devoted him the cover of the monographic issue about the new Italian architecture; in 1991, the magazine A+U devoted an entire issue to his work. He has been selected for the Palladio Architectural Award in 1988 and in 1989, and has been awarded the Giorgio Vasari Award for architecture in 2003. His work has been displayed at Biennale di Venezia (1991, 1992 and 1996), Triennale di Milano (1993 and 2005) and Casa del Mantegna in Mantova (2003).
Among the several designs of the office Paolo Zermani e Associati: Tempio di Cremazione in Parma (Italy, 2010), the restoration and reconstruction of the Castle of Novara (Italy, 2010), the Church of San Giovanni in Ponte D'Oddi (Italy, 2007), a house in Varano (Italy, 1997).
