Elías Torres

Elías Torres is a Spanish architect. Graduated in 1968 at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Barcelona (ETSAB), he has been Visiting Professor at Harvard University and has been teaching at ETSAB since 1969.

In 1968, he opened his practice with José Antonio Martínez Lapeña in Barcelona.

Martínez Lapeña-Torres Arquitectos' best-known projects include: the renovations of Gaudi's Park Güell in Barcelona (1993) and the Ibiza Castle (1991); the Forum 2004 Esplanade and Photovoltaic Power Plant in Barcelona; the cultural and artisan center Antonu Tur "Gabrielet" in Formentera (2010); the design of several private houses, such as the Costa House in Ibiza (1994) and Rauchwerk House in New Orleans (USA, 1992).

The firm Martínez Lapeña-Torres Arquitectos was awarded several prizes, such as the Premio Nacional de Arquitectura (2016). Elías Torres was also awarded the Ramon Llull Prize of the Balearic Islands Government in 2008 and the Gold Medal of the Island of Eivissa for his life's work in 2011.

ELIAS TORRES lecture will be held on May 26th 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Sala Boggian - Museo di Castelvecchio.
Only registered participants may be admitted to the lecture.
Registrations are due within May 25th at 12:00 noon as follows:
- architects members of professional associations may register at www.vr.archiworld.it and get 2 credits
- others may write an email to mantovarchitettura@polimi.it with indication of full name, address and occupation.
Reservations will be accepted on a first come first served basis (max 140 places available).
Every participant shall be at the entrance of Sala Boggiani at least 15 minutes before the beginning of the lecture otherwise he/she may not be allowed in.
Participants may enter for free at Museo di Castelvecchio during the whole day (May 26th 2018).
